The research team of Let’s Care Consortium” conducted research using a powerful combination of the ethnographic Life History with the Photovoice technique in order to explore and address school drop-out and exclusion among adolescents.
This has allowed the team to explore these issues through the experiences of adolescents who have seen their school carrier interrupted for multiple reasons. The testimonies and experiences of these young people are essential to understand the challenges of school exclusion in Europe, as well as the contribution that research can make to build more equitable schools, which promote caring as an indispensable part of their work.
The strength of participatory techniques in social research, in line with the principles of PAR (Participatory Action Research), has also allowed to co-create solutions with those affected.
All the partners involved have done a great job and have been able to create safe spaces for the participants, which is essential for the process to be positive and empowering for them.
