In July 2025, a Master’s student in Psychology, Sofia Pimenta, from Universidade Católica Portuguesa (Let’s Care partner from Portugal), defended her thesis based on data from Let’s Care project. Her thesis was intitled “Parental attachment, pedagogical relationship, school engagement, and academic performance in students in middle school”. Sofia’s work counted with 317 students, and her results indicated that parental attachment and pedagogical relationships were significantly associated with perceived academic performance and school engagement. This reinforces Let’s Care theoretical model: the quality of the relationship with parents and teachers plays a crucial role in the active participation of students in the school life and their academic success.
